Job summary

The Lubrizol Corporation in Gastonia, NC is hiring a Process Engineer to identify and implement process improvements across manufacturing operations. You will lead data-driven gap closure, support scale-up, and act as the technical representative through project definition, design, commissioning, and start-up.

Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, HSES, Quality, R&D, and Product Safety to ensure safe, robust, and compliant processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required; Chemical Engineering is strongly preferred.
• 4+ years of process/manufacturing/technology experience in a chemical or process-manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams on process improvement, new-product development, technology transfer, scale-up, capital projects, and plant operations.
• Working knowledge of statistical process control, process capability, root-cause analysis, experiment design, and data-based problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Monitor process capability, product performance, batch history, production losses, cost variances, and recurring failures to identify opportunities.
• Provide process troubleshooting and technical direction to Operations, including outside normal hours when required.
• Recommend and implement procedural changes, equipment modifications, or recipe adjustments to improve Safety, Environmental, Quality, Delivery, and Cost performance.
• Maintain and standardize manufacturing, operating, and cleaning instructions; train and coach operators on technical changes.
• Partner with Maintenance and Reliability to improve equipment performance and reliability.
