Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions, a division of Amphenol Corporation, is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to drive manufacturability and process improvements in high-speed interconnect assembly.

You will lead tooling, automation, and process development with cross-functional teams worldwide, focusing on cost reduction, reliability, and scalable production. The role involves early design influence, process validation, and collaboration with suppliers to deliver robust manufacturing solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 5+ years related experience in the connector industry.
• Knowledge of progressive stamping and lead-frame, injection molding and insert molding, lead-frame over-molding.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical drawings, write reports and present information.
• Experience with automation, PLCs, Machine Vision and electrical controls; project management experience.
• Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to communicate with assembly process engineers globally.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot equipment and determine root causes.

Responsibilities

• Develop assembly concepts, write scope of work, design and deploy tooling and automation.
• Collaborate with external suppliers for prototypes, pilot production and deployment of high-volume automation.
• Bridge product design and assembly processes to optimize manufacturability and efficiency.
• Document assembly processes, spare parts lists, and maintenance plans.
• Prepare equipment specifications and process layouts.
• Compute cycle times, yields, and capacity with team IEs.
• Define process steps, handling, and control needs.
• Develop DFMs and FMEAs with the team.
• Assess product/process parameters against tolerances and process functions.
• Evaluate safety and occupational health aspects.
• Justify major tooling with cost and operational criteria.
• Propose cost reduction activities for mature processes.
