Job summary

Corning Inc. seeks a Senior Thermal Process Engineer for our Manufacturing, Technology & Engineering (MTE) team in Corning, NY. The role is onsite with typical Monday–Friday hours and up to 50% travel to U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials/Glass Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 2+ years of technical or engineering experience in manufacturing, process development, or related industrial environment.
• Experience with high-temperature materials/process environments such as glass melting, forming, ceramic firing, or fiber optic manufacturing.
• Experience analyzing process data and supporting troubleshooting, root cause analysis, trials, or process improvement.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across manufacturing, engineering, and development teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze process and product data to identify and resolve thermal process upsets, defects, yield losses, and equipment-performance issues.
• Plan and execute process trials, experiments, and evaluations; develop hypotheses and use structured problem-solving to recommend solutions.
• Support process scale-up, technology transfer, and manufacturing readiness from development through production.
• Partner with operators, technicians, manufacturing engineers, development teams, and other stakeholders to implement process improvements.
• Maintain process documentation, standards, control plans, and operating procedures for assigned work.
