Job summary

McCLARIN Composites is seeking a Senior Industrial & Process Engineer to drive manufacturing excellence on open FRP, RIM clamps, and infusion processes. You will lead cycle-time reductions, MTM/MOST analyses, and tooling lifecycle management while partnering with customers on PFMEA/DFM for launches.

You will mentor teams on 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma as part of a culture focused on SQDC performance, safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements. This on-site role is in Wapato, WA.

Qualifications

• BS in Industrial/Manufacturing/Mechanical or plastics/tool engineering.
• 5–10 years of direct manufacturing experience in advanced composites or plastics processing (Open Mold, RIM, and Infusion).
• Experience with mold construction, gelcoat/surface repairs, vacuum integrity, and clamp mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Mold Cycle Time & Process Optimization: shorten cycle times for open FRP cure, RIM clamps, and resin infusion velocities while maintaining part integrity.
• Motion & Time Studies: conduct MTM/MOST analyses on manual layup, vacuum bagging, and demolding to strip non-value-added steps and set standards.
• Tooling Lifecycle Management: oversee engineering release, tryouts, maintenance, and mold preservation.
• SMED & Changeover Reductions: lead SMED workshops to minimize changeover windows and boost tool rotation efficiency.
• New Product Development (NPD) Support: collaborate with customers on PFMEA and DFM for production launches.
• Lean & Culture Leadership: drive 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma initiatives and train production staff on updated standards.
