Job summary

Chevron Corporation seeks a Senior Complex Facility Process Engineer in El Segundo to serve as a technical expert for refinery processes. You will lead high-impact initiatives, mentor engineers, and support turnarounds with strong data-driven decision making.

Required are 10+ years in oil & gas, chemical engineering fundamentals, and proficiency with process simulation tools. The role demands cross-functional collaboration and a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering is required.
• Minimum 10 years in oil & gas downstream refining.
• Strong fundamentals in mass transfer, heat transfer, distillation, and kinetics.
• Experience with process safety studies (PHA, LOPA, ROI) is preferred.
• Proven communication and coaching skills; able to mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Provide process troubleshooting support and technical recommendations.
• Mentor unit process engineers and develop early-career staff.
• Lead complex process initiatives to meet business objectives.
• Identify economically valuable improvements using NPV, DPI, ROR, ROCE, VOI.
• Support plant performance optimization and MOC input.
• Contribute to engineering guidelines and best practices.
