Job summary

Valero St. Charles Refinery is seeking a Sr Process Engineer to provide senior-level engineering for process evaluation, optimization of refinery operations, project design, start-up, troubleshooting and testing of units.

You will apply process engineering expertise to achieve safe, reliable, and economically optimized refinery performance while meeting KPI targets. The role emphasizes data-driven improvement and collaboration with operations and project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher level degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• Five years of process engineering experience in a petroleum refinery required.
• Process Simulation experience required.
• Basic skill using Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level process evaluation and optimization of refinery operations.
• Perform design, start-up, troubleshooting and testing of units.
• Develop and maintain PFDs, P&IDs and Unit Health KPIs.
• Prepare reports on catalyst life, performance and requirements of units.
• Initiate recommendations to improve yields and energy efficiency.
• Support environmental, safety and economic objectives for projects.
