Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Process Engineer for its Frozen Food Division in Solon, OH. You will design, prototype, and pilot new manufacturing solutions, scale processes from pilot to full production, and lead troubleshooting to reduce variability across plants.

You will also integrate processing systems with PLC/SCADA and DMO platforms, support simulations and digital twins, and drive continuous improvement with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, prototype, and pilot new manufacturing solutions for the Frozen Food Division
• Develop automated manufacturing solutions to improve labor efficiency, process consistency, product quality, and scalability
• Integrate processing systems with plant PLC/SCADA and DMO platforms
• Support process simulations and digital twins to optimize throughput and operational efficiency
• Execute plant trials, commissioning activities, and capability studies
• Collaborate with OEMs, R&D, Corporate Engineering, Frozen Operations, TAG, Quality, and Manufacturing Excellence
• Conduct pilot plant trials to ensure product quality and alignment with product requirements
• Ensure compliance with food safety, industrial safety, and cybersecurity requirements
• Coach and mentor Factory Engineers and Project Teams

Job description

• Conceptualize, design, prototype, and pilot new manufacturing solutions for the Frozen Food Division
• Develop, validate, and optimize mixing, cooking, assembly, mechanical, and freezing processes
• Define standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives for R&D Engineering
• Codify proven solutions into Frozen Food standards for deployment and replication across factories
• Scale processes from proof of concept and pilot runs to full factory implementation
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve processing issues and eliminate variability
• Develop automated manufacturing solutions to improve labor efficiency, process consistency, product quality, and scalability
• Integrate processing systems with plant PLC/SCADA and DMO platforms
• Support process simulations and digital twins to optimize throughput and operational efficiency
• Execute plant trials, commissioning activities, and capability studies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in process engineering within frozen foods or process-related industries
• Experience scaling processes from pilot to commercial manufacturing
• Strong understanding of cooking, blending, freezing technologies, filling, and relevant unit operations
• Experience with simulation tools (FlexSim or equivalent) preferred
• Experience with AutoDesk 3D design preferred
• Ability to travel up to 30%
