Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a hands-on Process Engineer for our food manufacturing operations. You will lead machinery maintenance, evaluate processes, and design improvements to meet factory needs, working across multiple sites.

Travel 50-60% to sites, collaborate with engineering, operations, QA, procurement, and product services, and provide technical process support, troubleshooting, and capital-improvement initiatives to enhance production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in food sciences or engineering with 5+ years in process/product design for consumer products, food, or feed manufacturing.
• High School/GED with 9+ years of process/product design experience in consumer products/food/feed.

Responsibilities

• Lead machinery maintenance and process capability assessments to support factory needs.
• Provide expert technical assistance on processes and quality issues.
• Select and evaluate equipment and system designs.
• Support continuous improvement of dry pet food production processes.
• Evaluate process capabilities, identify limitations, and propose cost-effective solutions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, R&D, engineering, operations, QA, procurement, production, and finance.
• Provide technical process support across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Troubleshoot process challenges and validate equipment or process modifications.
• Assist with capital improvements, line enhancements, and factory capability studies.
• Travel approximately 50-60% to manufacturing sites to support teams and understand site-specific needs.

• Provide leadership and support in machinery maintenance, capability, evaluation, training, and modifications for factory needs


• Provide expert technical assistance on processes and quality issues

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in food sciences, engineering, or related field and 5+ years of experience with process/product design and engineering in consumer products, food, or feed manufacturing OR High School or GED and 9+ years of experience with process/product design and engineering in consumer products, food, or feed manufacturing


• Willing and able to travel 50-60%
