The selected candidate for this position will be joining the Greenlawn NY Operations team in the Manufacturing Engineering/Technical Operations group and will provide sustaining engineering, process development and new process implementation across the manufacturing floor through hands-on problem solving, data analyses and application of engineering principles, Six Sigma and lean manufacturing principles to improve product flow and yields.

Responsibilities may include:

1. Developing production processes and failure analyses of product, requiring knowledge of military specifications of manufacturing materials and processes including finishes, paints, adhesives, metals, welding, and brazing.
2. Developing new processes and implementing changes in product flow to support the production line through the application of lean manufacturing principles.
3. Analyzing defect data to identify areas to improve yield. Working with others to implement process improvements. Applying Lean Six Sigma tools to solve production problems and improve existing processes. Using poke yoke principles to prevent production problems.
4. Participating in and documenting root cause corrective action (RCCA) using problem solving methodologies.
5. Defining and specifying the requirements for assembly tooling, fixtures and equipment to support current manufacturing operations and recommending changes for production line continuous improvements.
6. Supporting the implementation of new automation assembly equipment including programming, process qualifications/validations and supporting tooling design.
7. Researching emerging trends, techniques, methods, and current best practices to improve our processes and meet tomorrow's challenges.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

1. Bachelor's Degree in Material Science, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
2. At least 5-6 years of job-related experience.
3. The ability to obtain a Secret Clearance is required.
4. Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel at all levels, customers and suppliers.
5. Ability to read and use technical drawings, wire lists, schematics, process sheets, and change orders.
6. Ability to work independently and be effective in a fast-paced environment.
7. Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills required.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

1. Lean manufacturing, Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred.
2. At least 8 years electronics manufacturing process experience.
3. Secret Clearance.
4. Graduate degree.
5. Materials Science degree or concentration.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $103752 - $176378

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
