Job summary

Abrisa Industrial Glass, Inc. is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our team in West Virginia. You will lead projects implementing new products and processes, while guiding cross-functional teams and interfacing with customers to remove obstacles.

Expect independent work, problem solving, and travel as needed. You should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least 5 years of process engineering or mechanical experience, with hands-on glass fabrication know-how.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Physics, or one of the Engineering disciplines.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical or process engineering experience.
• Glass fabrication experience (cutting, seaming, machining, screen printing).
• Ability to manage projects with timelines and priorities.

Job description

HEF Photonics is a leading US-based Photonics company who partners with customers, from concept through production, providing technical expertise and volume manufacturing experience for custom designed solutions of thin film coatings, fabricated technology glass and ready-to-install photonic assemblies.

We are currently looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join our team in West Virginia. Significant independence, creativity and latitude are required. Manage technical projects directed by implementing new products and processes. May also perform some manufacturing engineering work. Familiar with standard project management tools such as Gantt Charts, Resource Maps and Constraint Management. Relies heavily on matrix influence to plan and accomplish goals.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage a variety of projects related to implementation of new products and processes
• Communicate project status and roadblocks to affected individuals, manage through resistance and priority conflicts
• Plan and execute all required tasks, ensuring all team members know all tasks and deadlines
• Use considerable technical judgement and skill to resolve process and product problems
• Investigate anomalous product and process conditions, and take or recommend corrective action
• Interface with project stakeholders, including external customers, to provide status, obtain information and overcome obstacles
• Recommend, develop and deploy process improvements
• May be required to do limited travel to support the above

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Physics, or one of the Engineering disciplines
• 5 years of experience minimum of mechanical engineering or process engineering or equivalent
• Glass fabrication experience in processes such as glass cutting, seaming, machining and screen printing
• Work within timelines and controlled environments. Must be able to prioritize work orders and be adaptable to changes in priorities
• Required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices.
