Job summary

Piper Companies in Cambridge, MA is seeking an experienced Sr. Research Associate, Process Development to advance stem cell-derived cell therapy manufacturing processes.

You will design and execute process development studies, apply qPCR and Flow Cytometry to assays, and perform hands-on culture and differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells, supporting GMP-ready scale-up and tech transfer for future clinical manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of pharmaceutical research and process development.
• Hands-on experience with stem cell/iPSC culture and differentiation.
• 1-3+ years of experience supporting cell therapy process development, scale-up, process characterization, or technology transfer.
• 1-3+ years of experience working in or supporting processes transitioning from research/preclinical development toward GMP manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in scientific field.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute process development studies supporting the optimization and standardization of pluripotent stem cell-derived cell therapy manufacturing processes.
• Utilize qPCR and Flow Cytometry to assess laboratory assays for scale up and tech transfer.
• Perform hands-on human pluripotent stem cell/iPSC culture and differentiation activities.
• Support the development of robust, reproducible, scalable, and GMP-ready processes for future clinical manufacturing.
• Execute experiments designed to evaluate and optimize process parameters, culture conditions, raw materials, reagents, and differentiation methods.
• Support activities associated with process scale-up, process characterization, and eventual technology transfer to a CDMO.
