Job summary

Rausch and Pausch LP (RAPA) in Auburn, AL is seeking an experienced Senior Process Development Engineer to lead development and handover of new processes and production lines. You will collaborate with European colleagues to share knowledge and standardize processes and to support rapid launches.

The role requires 6–8 years in industrial/process/automation engineering, a bachelor’s in engineering, and travel to Germany.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from accredited institution.
• Six (6) to Eight (8) years of experience in the field of industrial, process and automation engineering.
• Working knowledge of electrical, controls, and programming is a plus.
• Ability to hold a passport and travel within Germany without accompaniment
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
• Some knowledge of the German language and customs are a plus
• Strong CAD and 3D modeling skill. Creo experience is a plus.
• Microsoft Office, Minitab, or other production software experience
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills
• Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and handle multiple projects and assignments with proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate adeptness in manufacturing processes and learn existing processes and equipment.
• Coordinate with project team and lead development of new processes to hand over to series production.
• Establish relationships with European colleagues to share knowledge and standardize processes.
• Work with industrial engineering to design process improvements for existing manufacturing processes.
• Design prints and 3D models, manage installation, and release new stations for production.
• Assist R&D to prepare cost, labor, and cycle time estimations for RFQs.
• Create and manage capital expenditure spending within budget targets.
• Assure product and process quality by developing testing methods and PFMEAs.
• Assist maintenance and industrial engineering on troubleshooting machine/process issues.
• Perform process audits in accordance with VDA, IATF, and ISO standards.
