Job summary

Voyager Technologies is seeking a Senior Process Development Chemist to shape foundational chemical processes at bench scale, building understanding from kinetics to crystallization. You will design experiments and work closely with chemical engineers to translate data into production-ready parameters, with two Colorado sites guiding future scale-up.

The role requires an M.S. in chemistry or related field and 5+ years in process development, with hands-on DoE, crystallization, and hazard

Qualifications

• M.S. in chemistry (physical, inorganic, organic, organometallic, analytical), chemical engineering, or related physical science.
• 5+ years of experience in process development, process chemistry, or process scale-up.
• Experience designing and applying DoE to define operating windows and parameter interactions.
• Hands-on experience crystallization and purification/separation processes with particle engineering.
• Experience assessing reaction and thermal hazards (calorimetry, thermal stability, gas analysis).
• Track record of transferring a process from lab to pilot or production with reports and data packages.
• Ability to communicate technical results in writing and presentations to chemistry and engineering audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute bench-scale experiments to characterize kinetics, thermodynamics, crystallization, impurity rejection, and pH control.
• Apply DoE to define operating windows and critical quality attributes.
• Characterize hazards to support safe scale-up and defined operating boundaries.
• Ensure designs and results are scale-relevant, accounting for mixing, heat, and mass transfer changes.
• Produce data packages transferring process understanding to engineering.
• Collaborate with chemical engineers to design targeted experiments closing data gaps.
• Contribute to safe laboratory operations and waste minimization.
