Job summary

Vertex is seeking a lab-based Process Development Engineering Senior Scientific Associate to support process-development studies and the expansion of high-throughput laboratory capabilities, including the ambr250 platform and perfusion systems. • Mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and document process-development studies using bench-scale and high-throughput bioreactors.
• Perform mammalian and stem cell culture activities with aseptic technique.
• Execute equipment setup, media prep/exchange, sampling, harvest, and cell counting.
• Maintain and troubleshoot bioreactors, perfusion systems, liquid handlers, and data workflows.
• Support automated/semi-automated workflows for sample processing and data collection.
• Document standard procedures and improve workflows to ensure reproducible study execution.
• Coordinate study activities with cross-functional teams and prepare study documentation.
• May participate in weekend rotations to support cell culture and bioreactor operations.
