Job summary

Amentum seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the CMOE at NASA Langley Research Center, reporting to the Manager of Mechanical Engineering. You will independently prepare requirements, analyses, specifications, drawings, and cost estimates for process system designs.

The role includes overseeing designers, ensuring conformance to codes and customer requirements, and delivering high-quality technical reports and reviews. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering.
• Minimum 10–15 years of direct experience in process engineering design.
• Direct design experience for process systems in high-pressure air and steam.

Responsibilities

• Independent preparation of requirements, calculations, specifications, drawings, cost estimates, and reports.
• Oversee designers and drafters to ensure NASA facility designs meet codes and customer needs.
• Provide technical quality reviews and ensure adherence to QC processes and standards.
