Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Whitehall, MI is seeking a Process Control Engineering Leader to drive excellence across manufacturing processes. You will oversee Process Owners, define control strategies, and drive standardization in a high‑pressure aerospace environment.

You will implement SPC, monitor KPIs, and lead Lean Six Sigma initiatives to reduce scrap and cost while ensuring AS9100/NADCAP compliance and collaboration across global sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing.
• 1+ year of leadership experience.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.
• Preferred: Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering background.
• Experience managing teams of engineers or process owners.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100 and NADCAP certification requirements.
• Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and influence cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Process Owners across manufacturing processes.
• Define short and long term goals (Hoshin) for each process to ensure compliance and cost improvements.
• Set KPIs for Process Owners and track productivity/quality.
• Define KOVs and KIVs and drive scrap/rework reduction.
• Grow the use of data science and AI for process control.
• Ensure AS9100/NADCAP compliance across manufacturing steps.
• Implement Statistical Process Control and real-time monitoring.
• Lead capex projects from concept to production release.
• Lead process improvement projects (Scrap/Rework, Cost, Cycle Time).
• Collaborate with Global Process Owners to share best practices.
