Job summary

Westlake is seeking a Sr. Process Control Specialist to provide engineering design, order equipment and coordinate construction of projects, ensuring scope, cost and schedule compliance.

The role supports maintenance to help meet cost and production goals, with focus on SIS, DCS and PLC systems. Requirements include an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience and at least 8 years of engineering design experience, with a preference for chemical or petrochemical plant background.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or progressive engineering/technical experience acceptable to management.
• 8+ years of engineering design experience required.
• Chemical or petrochemical plant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops project plans, budgets and obtains approvals.
• Provides conceptual and detailed designs for instrumentation and control systems.
• Initiates procurement and coordinates with vendors for materials.
• Inspects new equipment for quality and conformance.
• Prepares work descriptions and drafts contracts for outside work.
• Coordinates field installation and acceptance of work.
• Provides engineering guidance for SIS, DCS and PLC systems.
• Coordinates consultants and stays informed on materials and design methods.
• Maintains engineering records.

Education

Associate’s degree in engineering/electronics discipline
