Job summary

Capstone Copper Corp. is seeking a Senior Process Control Engineer to lead design, implementation, optimization and support of plant control systems at a mining operation.

You will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and Control Room teams to drive safe, reliable, and efficient automation across concentrator processes. The role emphasizes development of advanced process control solutions, technology roadmaps, and project engineering support from concept through startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mining, Metallurgical, Chemical, Civil or related engineering field.
• 8+ years designing, implementing and supporting industrial control systems in mining/heavy industry.
• 8+ years for safe design/installation of process control in mining environments.
• Strong knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC, GE control systems, Wonderware and Historian.
• Experience programming and supporting PLC, HMI, SCADA and industrial control systems.
• Experience with concentrator processes: crushing, milling, flotation, filtration.
• Industrial networking and cybersecurity fundamentals for process control.
• Ability to develop control architectures and automation strategies.
• Experience developing project costs, scopes and schedules.
• Proficiency with MS Office; strong troubleshooting and leadership skills.
• Valid driver's license (AZ) and ability to read/speak/write English.

Responsibilities

• Safety & compliance: promote safety culture and MSHA compliance.
• Process control systems: design, modify, and maintain PLC/HMI/SCADA for concentrator operations.
• Automation engineering: develop control strategies for crushing, milling, flotation, filtration.
• Advanced process control development and application decisions.
• Develop standards, documentation, and implementation guidelines.
• Design and maintain process control architecture and supporting infra.
• Evaluate new automation technologies and roadmaps.
• Prepare project scopes, estimates, schedules, and technical specs.
• Provide engineering support during planning, installation, startup and optimization.
• Troubleshoot and optimize control systems; mentor technicians and staff.
