Job summary

MidAmerican Energy Company in Waterloo, IA seeks a Process Control Specialist Sr/Principal to plan, design, procure, and maintain plant DCS and PLC control systems, leading and directing teams on complex additions, changes or maintenance to ensuring optimal reliability and performance.

The role supports plant engineers and managers across multiple projects, provides technical guidance, diagnoses system issues, and collaborates with contractors to deliver safe, compliant, and cost‑effective

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or a power plant appropriate science discipline.
5+ years of experience in direct power plant or related utility industry with hands-on experience.
8 years of experience for the senior level.
10 years of experience for the principal level.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for control system administration, patches, upgrades and troubleshooting of DCS/PLC systems.
Assist in tuning complex DCS systems to improve heat rate, emissions and plant performance.
Provide technical direction for troubleshooting, calibrating and maintaining plant control systems and equipment.
Assist in control equipment maintenance, calibration and control logic diagnosis; troubleshoot electrical/mechanical issues.
