Job summary

Cambrex Corporation is seeking an Automation Engineer to support and maintain the plant-wide Distributed Controls System (DCS), standalone PLCs, and plant alarm system at our facility in Iowa. You will interact across manufacturing operations, QA, IT, and maintenance to prioritize and complete projects on schedule.

The role requires knowledge of DCS, alarm systems, and instrument control design, with a BS Chemical Engineering preferred.

Qualifications

DCS and/or plant alarm system experience is required or highly beneficial.
P&ID knowledge is preferred.
Knowledge of instrument control design, installation and testing is desirable.
Strong Windows skills (Word, Excel, databases) and clear communication are essential.

Responsibilities

Provide automation support for Operations, QA, IT, Maintenance, and Production Engineering to ensure a safe, efficient facility.
Lead or assist facility designs or modifications related to automation and alarm systems (control panels, networks, computer systems).
Perform automation/engineering functions to support project design work and capital requests.
Provide equipment/instrument troubleshooting support.
Train contractors and vendors on site policies and procedures.
