Job summary

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry with 5 years' process chemistry experience, or M.S. in chemistry with 20 years' hands-on chemistry process scale up experience.
• Strong background in data analysis, experimental design, project management, and technical writing proficiencies are required.
• Basic understanding of and willingness to learn statistical concepts; JMP experience would be an advantage.
• Experience with large scale reactors (200L to 2000L) and process equipment.
• Expertise in LCMS, NMR, and other chemical structural analytical methods.
• Demonstrated success working in manufacturing/technical production environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in area of Process Chemistry.
• Independently scout new chemical reaction pathways for future larger-scale use.
• Scale synthetic routes from kilo to multi-kilo scale reactors (400L, 800L, 2000L).
• Develop robust chemical processes transferable to technical manufacturing.
• Identify and implement necessary process equipment for safe, efficient operation.
• Train Chemical Operators and Production Chemist for scaled routes.
• Routinely analyze/interpret 1D/2D NMR spectra to assign structures (1H, 13C).
• Routinely perform/interpret UPLC-MS analyses.
• Assist in data preparation for regulatory filings on chemical syntheses of active ingredients.
