Job summary

Actalent seeks a Process Chemist to lead chemistry development and scale-up from research through pilot and large-scale manufacturing. You will optimize synthetic routes for small molecules and manage technology transfers to production operations.

You will analyze NMR and LC-MS data, design experiments, and collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to meet regulatory requirements while driving safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry with 5+ years of Process Chemistry experience or M.S. with 10+ years of hands-on process development and scale-up.
• Experience taking chemical processes from lab to manufacturing and scaling to kilograms and beyond.
• Strong understanding of process scale-up, optimization, technical transfer, and chemical manufacturing operations.
• Experience with production-scale reactors.

Responsibilities

• Scale synthetic routes from lab development to pilot and commercial manufacturing (grams to 100+ kg).
• Develop robust, safe, reproducible chemical processes for transfer to manufacturing.
• Identify and implement necessary process equipment for safe production.
