Job summary

Precis Engineering + Architecture in Ambler, PA, seeks a Senior Process Architect to lead programming, design, and documentation for highly regulated pharma, biotech, healthcare, and life sciences projects.

You will translate client requirements into compliant architectural solutions, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and supporting business development while ensuring regulatory alignment across all project phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture from an accredited institution.
• 8–20 years of architectural design experience, preferably in pharma, biotech, life sciences, healthcare, or regulated environments.
• Experience programming and designing manufacturing, laboratory, research, or cleanroom facilities.
• Working knowledge of cGMP, FDA regulations and guidance, ISPE Baseline Guides and GMP workflows.
• Architect licensure preferred; candidates actively pursuing licensure will be considered; LEED accreditation a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead programming, planning, design, and documentation for pharmaceutical and life sciences facilities.
• Develop layouts to support critical manufacturing processes (Fill/Finish, OSD, CGT, Biologics, labs).
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and structural teams for integrated design.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, regulations, and industry standards (cGMP, FDA).
• Support construction administration: site observations, RFIs, submittals, contractor coordination.
• Assist with project scheduling and resource planning, and participate in client meetings and design reviews.
• Support business development: proposals, qualifications, and pursuit strategies.
