Job summary

Avid Bioservices in Tustin, CA is seeking a Senior Research Associate, Process Analytics to independently perform analytical work across cell line development and upstream/downstream process development, and support formulation development.

You will act as a technical resource for analytical methods, troubleshoot complex issues, review data, mentor lab staff, and help implement new analytical technologies in a fast‑paced biopharmaceutical CDMO environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences, or related field (master's a plus).
3+ years of hands-on experience in process development, QC, biologics characterization, or related analytical lab.
Demonstrated experience serving as a technical resource and troubleshooting analytical methods or instrumentation.
Strong hands-on experience with analytical biochemistry, chromatography, electrophoresis, protein characterization, or similar testing.

Responsibilities

Independently perform analytical studies and determine testing strategies for development programs.
Serve as method owner for platforms (HPLC/UPLC, CE-SDS, icIEF, plate assays).
Lead troubleshooting of instrument, method, or data integrity issues.
Design and lead analytical comparability and transfer studies with Analytical Development.
Perform technical review of analytical data and documentation.
Evaluate risk and recommend analytical approaches for development decisions.
Support implementation of new analytical technologies and high-throughput workflows.
Provide mentorship and training to Research Associates and lab staff.
Represent Process Analytical in cross-functional meetings and communicate findings.
