Job summary

Avid Bioservices in Tustin, CA, is seeking a Research Associate, Process Analytics to plan and execute analytical studies supporting cell line and process development. You will interpret data, troubleshoot, and serve as a technical resource to development teams.

Role requires a relevant scientific degree and hands-on experience with analytical biochemistry, chromatography, and protein characterization. Onsite, Monday–Friday, with overtime possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences, or related field required.
• 1+ year hands-on experience in process development, quality control, biologics characterization, or related analytical lab.
• Ability to plan analytical work, interpret data, investigate atypical results and propose next steps.
• Hands-on experience with analytical biochemistry, chromatography, electrophoresis, protein characterization, or related testing.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute routine and non-routine analytical studies supporting cell line development and process development.
• Select analytical methods, controls and data-analysis approaches within program objectives.
• Execute and interpret assays such as HPLC/UPLC, icIEF, plate-based assays, residual DNA or qPCR, pH, osmolality, SDS-PAGE.
• Investigate atypical results, assess data quality, and recommend next steps.
• Troubleshoot method and instrument performance issues within role authority.
• Author and revise analytical protocols, methods, and investigations for data integrity.
• Support analytical method development, qualification, and transfer with Analytical Development.
• Present conclusions and recommendations to Process Development teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of analytical approaches and turnaround time.

Education

Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related scientific field
