Job summary

San Bernardino County is seeking a Supervising Probation Officer to oversee a team of Probation Officers and staff, assigning and evaluating work, and ensuring compliance with department policies. The role involves training and coordinating with division leadership to manage workload and performance.

Ideal candidates will have Peace Officer status, be willing to undertake arming training, and pass a rigorous background check.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience as a Probation Officer III within San Bernardino County.
• Must possess Peace Officer status and be willing to complete arming training for an armed position.
• Must pass an extensive background investigation.
• License: California Class C Driver License is required to perform essential duties.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, organize, assign, review and evaluate work performed by Probation Officers and staff.
• Conduct orientation or in-service training; interpret policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with Division Directors regarding staff assignments, workload and performance.
