Job summary

Ministry of Justice seeks a Senior Private Secretary to the HMPPS Digital Director Office, joining, coordinating, and shaping digital and data-enabled transformation across prisons, probation and electronic monitoring. Responsibilities

• Coordinate, write and quality-assure briefing materials, submissions and correspondence.
• Support effective decision-making by ensuring the senior leader is well briefed for meetings.
• Utilise AI and automation tools to assist with briefings while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Manage information flow to/from the Private Office to enable timely communication.
• Track commissioned actions and oversee delivery with accountability across teams.
• Support governance, reporting and assurance processes.
• Assist periods of change to provide stability and continuity.
• Line manage and develop junior colleagues (SEO/HEO level).
• Use data on finance, commercial and workforce to shape strategy and resolve delivery barriers.
• Improve value for money by leveraging central products and services.
