Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking a Director to join its private equity investment team in Dallas. This senior role puts you in charge of transactions from diligence to close and ongoing portfolio oversight, acting as the quarterback on investments.

The ideal candidate has 10–15 years in private equity with strong LBO experience, a background in leveraged finance or credit investing, and a proven record leading deals end-to-end.

Qualifications

• 10-15 years of experience in private equity.
• Strong LBO experience is required or highly preferred.
• Background in corporate private equity, leveraged finance, or credit investing.
• Demonstrated ability to lead transactions independently from start to finish.
• Exposure to multiple sectors is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead investments from initial review through closing and active portfolio management (cradle to grave).
• Own financial modeling, valuation, and analysis for LBO transactions.
• Manage third-party advisors and diligence workstreams.
• Structure, negotiate, and execute transaction terms.
• Present investment recommendations to senior leadership and investment committees.
• Monitor portfolio company performance during the hold period and support value-creation initiatives.
• Mentor junior investment professionals and contribute to overall team development.
