Job summary

Talanto seeks a senior ROPA/privacy program specialist to build and maintain a Canada-focused ROPA program, partnering with a global client’s privacy engineering team. You will document data handling across multiple business units and translate global structures to Canada specifics.

You will own discovery with 10–12 units, track items across 24+ stakeholders, and communicate with VP-level leaders. Remote or Seattle-based, with independent work and regular leadership visibility.

Qualifications

• Hands-on ROPA experience in a North American context (US, Canada, Mexico, or similar).
• Senior analyst/engineer level in privacy or GRC, owning ROPA-building work.
• Comfort engaging with VP-level stakeholders without coaching.
• Strong organizational skills and proactive follow‑up across many stakeholders.
• Quebec Law 25 or GDPR familiarity is a plus, not required for strong NA experience.
• Independent work with leadership visibility and day‑to‑day autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Build out a Canadian ROPA program largely from the ground up, partnering with the client's privacy engineering team.
• Lead discovery sessions with ~10–12 business units, documenting systems, processes, and data handling.
• Draft and maintain ROPA entries using templates, adapting global structures to Canada-specific processes.
• Track outstanding items across 24+ stakeholders with clear ownership and deadlines.
• Communicate professionally with senior stakeholders, including VP-level, without guidance.
• Participate in daily standups to report progress, plans, and blockers.
• Keep program leadership copied on communications for visibility.
• Recognize scope boundaries for each ROPA entry and flag items beyond scope.
