Job summary

Snap Inc. is hiring a Privacy Engineer to embed privacy into ads ranking and targeting systems. You will partner with engineering, product, legal, security, and data teams to translate privacy requirements into practical, production-ready controls protecting users while preserving product utility.

You will develop privacy-preserving approaches, lead threat modeling, and scale privacy controls across Snap’s ads ecosystem, ensuring compliance and robust data governance across services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of post-bachelor’s privacy, security, software engineering, or related experience; or a master’s degree with 1+ year; or a PhD.
• Expertise in privacy engineering, privacy reviews, data governance, or security engineering.

Responsibilities

• Help build privacy into ads ranking and targeting systems.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate privacy requirements into controls.
• Develop and scale privacy-preserving approaches across Snap’s ads ecosystem.
• Design privacy controls for production systems with focus on architecture, scale, and risk.
• Lead privacy reviews, threat modeling, and risk assessments for products and data flows.
• Utilize AI tools to ship scalable services while ensuring security and production quality.
• Support privacy-safe advertising and measurement.
• Evaluate privacy-preserving approaches for ML systems.
