Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking a Privacy Engineer to help build privacy into ads ranking and targeting systems.

You will partner with engineering, product, legal, security, and data teams to translate privacy requirements into production-ready controls that protect users and preserve product utility. You'll develop and scale privacy-preserving approaches, audit practices, and technical solutions across Snap’s ads ecosystem, designing controls for production systems and leading reviews, threat modeling,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• 2+ years of post‑bachelor’s privacy or security experience, or a master’s +1 year, or PhD.
• Expertise in privacy engineering, reviews, data governance, or security engineering.

Responsibilities

• Integrate privacy into ads ranking and targeting systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, legal, security, and data teams to implement controls.
• Develop privacy-preserving approaches and scalable technical solutions.
• Design privacy controls for production systems considering architecture and performance.
• Lead privacy reviews, threat modeling, and risk assessments across products and data flows.
• Use AI tools with rigorous safety and correctness standards in production.
• Support privacy-safe advertising and measurement.
• Evaluate privacy-preserving ML approaches and assess leakage risks.
• Help define privacy standards, tooling, and documentation across Snap.
