Job summary

Oliver James Group is seeking a privacy professional to act as the go-to for privacy across Legal, Compliance, and IT. You will manage data processing agreements, DPIAs, and cross-border data transfers with the DPO and international teams.

The role emphasizes shaping privacy framework amid expanding AI use and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in privacy, is fluent in English, and can work independently in a remote, multi-country setup.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience as a privacy officer, privacy counsel, or similar role.
• Experience in DPIAs and transfer impact assessments; able to review DPAs and SCCs.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR; some knowledge of EU AI Act and its interaction with GDPR.
• Fluent English, written and spoken; able to explain legal points to non-lawyers.
• Independent, capable of working in a remote team spread across countries.
• Certification such as CIPP/E or CIPM is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review and negotiate data processing and data sharing agreements; privacy clauses in contracts.
• Carry out DPIAs for new products, systems, and AI use cases; assess data transfers.
• Update privacy policies, records of processing activities; monitor controls and gaps.
• Assist with data breaches, data subject requests, and regulator inquiries.
