Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Senior Privacy Counsel to lead the company’s privacy, data governance and AI governance programs within the Legal Department.

You will provide legal guidance across ecommerce, CRM, marketing, financial services and IT initiatives, ensuring privacy compliance and effective risk management. The role requires JD and 8+ years of experience, with licenses to practice, privacy certifications, and the ability to collaborate with compliance, marketing, IT and risk teams to

Qualifications

• J.D. required
• 8+ years of experience in privacy or related legal fields
• Current license to practice law
• CIPP/US, CIPP/E or other privacy certifications preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Deep understanding of federal and state privacy laws and AI requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance on privacy, cybersecurity, data use and AI governance
• Counsel on e-commerce, CRM, digital marketing and CAN-SPAM compliance
• Oversee privacy inquiries and data breach response procedures
• Develop and maintain the company’s privacy program and data governance framework
• Collaborate with Compliance, IT, Marketing, Risk and other teams across the organization
