Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a senior privacy and data security legal leader to guide privacy strategy and ensure regulatory compliance across the enterprise. You will advise on data protection, manage privacy training, and collaborate with IT security teams to align programs.

The ideal candidate will have a JD, 8–12 years of privacy experience, bar licensure, and knowledge of U.S. and international privacy laws, with CIPP-US certification preferred.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in privacy and data security
• Juris Doctorate degree required
• Licensed to practice law in Ohio or active bar license in another state
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. privacy and cybersecurity laws and standards
• Knowledge of international privacy laws including GDPR preferred
• CIPP (US) certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Advise on privacy issues and data protection across the business
• Review and negotiate privacy-related agreements
• Advise on incident response and data breach reporting
• Collaborate with IT Security to align privacy and security programs
• Provide guidance on privacy requirements to cross-functional teams
• Assist with regulatory inquiries related to privacy and data security
• Review policies to ensure privacy compliance
• Advise on privacy training program design and provision
• Stay up to date on privacy developments at state, federal and international levels
• Support acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures as they relate to privacy
