Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Senior Privacy Counsel to lead privacy strategy and provide proactive counsel across the organization. You will advise on data protection, data security, and regulatory requirements, partnering with business leaders and IT/security teams to align programs with enterprise goals.

You will review complex privacy provisions, respond to regulatory inquiries, and help shape training and policies to reduce risk while enabling growth.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of experience, preferred
• Juris Doctorate degree required
• License to practice law in Ohio or active bar license in another state
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. privacy and cybersecurity laws
• Knowledge of international privacy laws (GDPR) preferred
• Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills
• Solution and results oriented with ability to prioritize
• Excellent problem-solving, written and oral communication skills
• CIPP (US) certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Advise business leaders and colleagues on privacy issues and data breaches
• Review and negotiate privacy-related agreements
• Advise on incident response and data breach reporting processes
• Collaborate with IT Security for privacy compliance alignment
• Provide guidance on privacy requirements across cross-functional teams
• Support regulatory inquiries related to privacy and data security
• Review policies to ensure privacy law compliance
• Design and provision privacy training programs
• Stay updated on privacy developments at all levels
• Support significant corporate transactions related to privacy
