Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a senior privacy lawyer to lead data privacy and cybersecurity initiatives across the organization. The role advises business leaders, negotiates privacy agreements, and coordinates incident response and regulatory actions. You will work with IT security to align privacy controls and provide practical, business-focused guidance.

The position requires a JD, active bar license, and extensive U.S. privacy law knowledge; international privacy experience (GDPR) is a plus.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree required.
• License to practice law in Ohio or active bar license in another state.
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. privacy and cybersecurity laws and standards (HIPAA, state privacy laws).
• Knowledge of international privacy laws (GDPR) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a privacy expert advising business leaders on data privacy, data protection and data security.
• Review and negotiate privacy-related agreements (DPAs, privacy provisions).
• Advise on incident response and data breach reporting processes.
• Collaborate with IT Security to align privacy and security programs.
• Provide guidance on privacy requirements for complex projects.
• Assist with regulatory inquiries and investigations related to privacy.
• Review policies to ensure compliance with privacy laws.
• Contribute to privacy training program design.
• Stay updated on privacy developments at state, federal and international levels.
• Support acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures related to privacy.
