Job summary

Mastercard is seeking an experienced privacy lawyer to support its evolving digital assets ecosystem from a privacy and data protection viewpoint. The role focuses on BVNK integration, privacy compliance, and cross-border payment initiatives, based in Purchase, NY.

The candidate will partner with Product, Compliance, Regulatory, Security, and Legal teams to enable compliant product development while ensuring privacy protections and regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• Law degree required. Membership to a Bar (if permitted by law). Any additional qualifications considered an asset.
• Solid expertise in and track record dealing with privacy law.
• Experience advising on privacy or data protection issues involving financial services, fintech, digital asset products, stablecoins or other digital currencies, and the use of public and private blockchains is preferred.
• Experience advising on U.S. privacy, financial privacy, or data security requirements, including GLBA, is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze privacy and data protection requirements for digital assets, blockchain, stablecoins, and related technology with global compliance focus.
• Provide day-to-day privacy and data protection advice to business teams developing digital asset initiatives and cross-border payments.
• Support integration and ongoing operation of BVNK and related businesses with privacy compliance needs.
• Develop and implement U.S. privacy compliance measures including GLBA and Data Security Program.
• Raise privacy awareness among global teams through training and guidance.
