Job summary

The Howard County Public School System seeks a Senior Lead, Print Operator to oversee daily production of printing, binding, and finishing for instructional and administrative needs. You will manage a team, schedule jobs, ensure quality, and maintain equipment safety and efficiency.

Ideal candidates bring extensive experience with high-volume digital printing, finishing equipment, and print workflow systems, with a focus on meeting tight deadlines for large-scale school events and publications.

Qualifications

• A combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Education: Possession of a High School diploma or GED.
• Experience: Five years of experience in operating business reproduction and printing equipment.
• 7+ years experience operating digital production printing equipment (preferred).
• 7+ years experience operating production finishing equipment (preferred).
• Print workflow automation and optimization experience (preferred).
• Variable-data printing (VDP) experience (preferred).
• Print management software experience (preferred).
• Experience implementing quality control measures to ensure high-quality reproductions (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Operate digital printing equipment to produce materials; perform finishing tasks, packaging and shipping.
• Review print requests for accuracy and consult with staff to ensure district standards.
• Support special printing projects for events and graduation materials.
• Oversee team of equipment operators; schedule and prioritize print jobs to meet deadlines.
• Maintain accurate records of jobs, materials, and time for reporting and billing.
