Job summary

Air Products Rotoflow seeks a Sr Principal Mechanical Engineer to advance turbomachinery design, analysis, and project execution for proprietary high-speed rotating equipment worldwide. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and collaboration with customers and vendors, with hybrid in Bethlehem, PA or Houston, TX.

The candidate will lead design reviews, support aftermarket tasks, and drive improvements across product offerings, leveraging advanced analytical tools and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• BSME or related degree required.
• 10–15 years turbomachinery or rotating machinery design experience.
• Strong knowledge of FEA, rotordynamics, bearing and seal technologies.
• Detail-oriented, collaborative, and customer-focused.

Responsibilities

• Perform turbomachinery design analyses including FEA (stress, deflection, modal), rotordynamics, and hand calculations.
• Develop standardized product deliverables in collaboration with Product Owners.
• Execute mechanical design tasks on awarded projects and product development initiatives.
• Support aftermarket activities and engineering tasks.
• Communicate with vendors on technical solutions.
• Support RCA and field commissioning/startup activities by Aftermarket Team.
• Drive cost reductions and competitiveness across projects.
• Collaborate with customers to ensure proper design and integration of equipment.
