Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems seeks a Senior Principal or Principal Engineer for Systems Modeling and Simulation in San Diego, CA (preferred) or Palmdale, CA. You will analyze inventory effectiveness using statistical methods, apply probability-based analytics, and support system designs through advanced simulations.

The role requires STEM degrees with substantial modeling experience, proficiency in Excel, and the ability to obtain a Top Secret and SAP clearance.

Qualifications

• Requires a STEM degree with 5+ years (or 3+ with Master’s, or 1+ with PhD) in statistical analysis, data analysis, or system modeling.
• Experience in statistical modeling and data analytics.
• Advanced proficiency with MS Excel (pivot tables, formulas, macros).

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate system simulation frameworks, models, threats, and C2 models.
• Simulate real-time operations and develop software/models of projected system behavior.
• Create/extend GUIs and visualization tools for analysis and decision support.
• Conduct trade studies via simulations and recommend alternative architectures.
• Perform operational and mission effectiveness analyses.
• Develop MDS concepts, LORA, ROI analyses, and model-based system engineering.
• Adapt models to support design, development, and sustainment of concepts.
