Job summary
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Sr Principal Systems Engineer for on-site work in San Diego, CA or Palmdale, CA. You will lead IPT-driven system design activities, advance interface control artifacts, and coordinate across multiple contracts.
The role requires a Top Secret clearance and active SAP/PAR readiness, with up to 10% travel. The candidate will develop design reviews, supporting evidence, and validation plans while mentoring teams and communicating effectively with
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 8 years of related engineering experience, or a Master’s with 6 years, or a PhD with 4 years.
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance required.
- Ability to obtain SAP/PAR and maintain program access.
Responsibilities
- Support SRR and PDR for new development projects.
- Develop system design artifacts and end-to-end traceability.
- Automate processes and documentation for design/testing.
- Produce design reviews and integration artifacts.
- Prepare materials for Engineering Design Reviews.
- Coordinate software interfaces across contracts.
- Lead IPT coordination and communicate with external customers.
- Present technical material to stakeholders.
