Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer (level 4) to join the Sentinel Systems team based in Roy, Utah.

You will decompose requirements, own environments for equipment, and review test procedures to verify conformance with system-level specs. The role requires an active DoD Secret clearance, 8+ years with a BS, or equivalent, plus familiarity with environmental test methods and DoD/industry standards.

Qualifications

• Candidates must meet DoD clearance requirements and possess an active Secret clearance.
• Experience decomposing requirements and validating system-level environments.
• Familiarity with environmental test standards and verification methods.
• Ability to coordinate with REs, System Test, and external vendors.
• Willingness to travel ~25% CONUS.

Responsibilities

• Decompose parent level requirements into lower-level requirements as appropriate.
• Own environments for equipment; add derived environmental figures/tables as needed.
• Review vendor performance specs and verification methodology.
• Support internal and external (vendor) Design Reviews.
• Assist System Test engineers in developing test procedures for proper verification.
• Review COTS to ensure environmental requirements; identify deficiencies and delta testing needs.
• Participate in Test Plan, Procedure, and Report peer reviews.
• Witness testing as Cognizant Environments Engineer.
• Review ESS procedures; approve vibration and thermal cycle surveys.
• Support MRB/FRB during testing and screening events.
• Develop and review requirements, verification methods, descriptions, plans, and architecture.
• Investigate early issues to understand impact on requirements.
