The Enduring & Open Systems Solutions (EOSS) Team is seeking an experienced Senior Principal Systems Engineer in a role committed to creating creative and cost-effective solutions for our ground and airborne systems. As part of Collins Mission Systems, we specialize in developing advanced communications systems, ground and flight computers, sensors, cyber and software solutions, as well as providing integration of Mission Systems. As part of the EOSS Department, the Systems Engineering Team supports a variety of communications systems and apertures including Beyond Line-of-Sight (BLOS) antennas for multi-band multi-constellation satellite communications (SATCOM) and Line-of-Sight (LOS) systems for communications and sensing applications.
This position is onsite and can be located in McKinney, TX, Marlborough, MA or Fort Wayne, IN. It requires an active DoD Secret Security clearance on day 1 with the ability to obtain and maintain SAP.
What You Will Do:
Lead system trade studies, requirements analysis, architecture, and allocation to subsystems
Develop test & integration plans and procedures and generate test flow diagrams
Support or lead integration, verification, and validation tasks and activities
Conduct performance analyses and simulations as needed
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
Prepare presentations and brief to customers during program design reviews
Manage problems and issues requiring detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation
Oversee the development of full lifecycle solutions from CONOPS to Validation
Act as a primary Subject Matter Expert within discipline with advanced to expert knowledge of work area
Manage large-sized projects or processes
Work to influence within and outside of work area at an operational level regarding policies, practices, and procedures within the organization
Coach, review, and delegate work to lower-level professionals
Use advanced knowledge from an advanced university degree combined with professional experience
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance is required to work in our organization
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Experience in leading a team in requirements development and system architecture
Participation in large-scale test and integration activities
Expertise in requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, DNG)
Expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (e.g., SysML, Cameo, Rhapsody)
Proficiency in modeling/simulation tools (e.g., Matlab)
Understanding of Systems Engineering support for Software, Hardware, and Firmware development and collaboration
Comfort in interacting and engaging directly with customers and external business partners
Outstanding communications skills
Qualifications We Prefer:
Familiarity with production and manufacturing
Familiarity with qualification processes and certification procedures
Knowledge of or application of Earned Value Management System
Proficiency in tooling to include Microsoft products or tasking boards (e.g., Jira)
Proficiency in RF design tools (e.g., SystemVue)
Agile working environment experience
Proposal support experience including writing Basis of Estimates (BOEs)
Experience in Communication Radio and Systems including SATCOM, LOS/BLOS antennas, and waveforms
Experience with Active Electronic Scanning Array (AESA) systems

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
