Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Woodland Hills, CA, is seeking a Sr Principal Systems Engineer to join the Integration & Test team on-site.

You will collaborate with physicists, design engineers, and superconducting foundry engineers to translate customer requirements into validated system solutions, performing testing and analysis. The role requires active security clearance and strong leadership, with a focus on delivering reliable, high-performance systems for national defense.

Qualifications

• 8 years relevant experience with B.S. Electrical Engineering or equivalent; or 6 years with M.S.; or 3 years with PhD
• Active US Government Secret Level security clearance
• Experience in System Engineering activities such as: Requirements development
• Test Procedure development
• Verification and Validation, i.e. experience running tests and documenting results
• Ability to diagnose complex issues, lead problem-solving efforts, and drive tasks to completion
• Demonstrated teamwork and leadership of projects or teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willlingness to work onsite in Woodland Hills, Ca as required by this position

Responsibilities

• Identifying unique requirements from a broad customer base, flowing the requirements into design documentation, and working with a diverse team to build and test those requirements
• Work on the capabilities of current products, performance analyses, design information, and requirements verification methods
• Ensure logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation
• Generate, review, and manage multiple requirements sets that cover all aspects of both performance and nonperformance including mechanical interfaces, electrical interfaces, data requirements, environmental requirements, and reliability
• Design, develop, and implement testing methods to verify and validate project requirements
• Performing hands-on electrical testing at CCA level and systems level test setups
• Documenting & dispositioninghardwarediscrepancies,pursuing root cause & corrective actions
