Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to define and drive a next-generation STARS architecture. You will lead MBSE modeling with Cameo, shape system interfaces and behavior, and guide a cross-functional team toward a cohesive architectural baseline.

Responsibilities include architecture trade studies, standards enforcement, and mentoring engineers, ensuring safety, regulatory alignment, and scalable design for NAS platforms.

Qualifications

• Senior-level engineering degree with 10+ years in complex system architecture or equivalent.
• Proven MBSE experience and leadership in large-scale modernization projects.
• Expertise in safety-critical, mission-critical NAS/ATC systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture development for the next-gen STARS system and interfaces.
• Develop and maintain MBSE models to represent behavior and constraints.
• Perform architecture trade studies and roadmaps for modernization.
• Collaborate across systems, software, hardware, and program management.
• Establish architectural standards, patterns, and best practices.
• Support requirements decomposition with MBSE for traceability.
• Present analyses and decisions to leadership and customers.
• Mentor junior engineers in MBSE and Cameo usage.
• Ensure compliance with NAS safety, regulatory, and certification requirements.
