Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks a cleared Senior/Principal Software Engineer to join the Remote Sensing Systems group onsite in Albuquerque, NM. You will design, develop, and implement mission-critical software for national security systems, focusing on the USNDS project and real-time satellite data processing.

You will work within an Agile team to deliver scalable software solutions, collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, and leverage tools like Maven, Docker, and GitHub.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant STEM field and 5 years of software engineering on high-consequence information systems.
• 4 years of object-oriented development in C++, Python.
• 1 year of algorithm development.
• Active DOE Q clearance or DoD equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop and document solutions for high-consequence satellite ground systems in C++, Java, Python, Bash, and C.
• Support existing software and hardware systems.
• Work on an Agile team addressing remote sensing problems including data capture, processing, exploitation, visualization, and distribution of real-time satellite sensor data.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, leads, customers, and end users to collect requirements, design solutions, and deliver extensible software.
• Analyze existing systems and develop new solutions pushing state-of-the-art.
