About the Role

Our Senior Principal Software Engineers work in an exciting, adaptive environment, utilizing skills such as requirements analysis, architecture synthesis, UML and SysML diagramming, and delivering high-quality mission-critical software. They define and design complex software architectures and serve as Subject Matter Experts in software discipline, mentoring teams to success. This position supports shaping the future of NC3 defense systems for the armed forces and is located onsite in Richardson, TX.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with a high-performance software team, including Software engineers, Scrum Master, Product Owner, Architects, and others.
2. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert within the software discipline.
3. Design definitions for complex software components supporting Mission Systems.
4. Support requirements decomposition and derivation to produce Software Requirements.
5. Produce high-quality mission-critical software.
6. Mentor senior engineers, junior engineers, and interns.
7. Provide direct support to stakeholders for technical questions and issues.
8. Support bid proposals with technical expertise and estimates.
9. Participate in customer interactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in STEM with 10+ years of relevant experience or Master’s with 7+ years.
• 7+ years experience with Object-Oriented Development using Java.
• Experience with CI/CD, distributed software design, and Mission Critical Systems in defense.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Top Secret security clearance.
• Experience with UML, SysML, MBSE, CAMEO, virtualization, microservices, containers, OMS, Jira, Git, pub/sub, Agile SDLC, DoD software development, Java GUI frameworks, and software architecture.
