Our Principal Software Engineers work in an exciting, adaptive,and engaging environment enabling rapid learning to drive success. Our principalsoftware engineers utilize a variety of skills on a regular basis including requirements analysis, synthesis of new and existing architectures, development and delivery of high-quality mission critical software. Our Principal Software engineers act as Subject Matter Experts for the software discipline. This position will support the shaping of the future of NC3 defense systems for the armed forces.This position is located onsite in Richardson, TX.
What YouWill Do:
You will team up with a high-performance software team, collaborating with fellow Software engineers, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Software Architects, and other teams.
You will have the opportunity to act as a Subject Matter Expert within the Software discipline and team.
You will support the team in critical decisions.
You will support requirements decomposition and derivation to produce Software Requirements.
You will be responsible for producing high quality mission critical software.
You will have the opportunity to mentor senior engineers,junior engineers and interns.
You will be responsible for providing direct support to stakeholders answering questions and solving technical issues.
What YouWill Learn:
You will have the opportunity to learn and grow knowledge within the Strategic Nuclear Deterrence domains &gain niche skills enabling you to be unique in all you do.
You will gain valuable experience & an opportunity to lead, including roles such as Software Team Lead, Subject Matter Expert.

QualificationsYou Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience oran Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
5+ years of experience with Object Oriented Development using Java with the ability to create complex software designs based on customer’s requirements.
Previous experience designing distributed software using microservices.
QualificationsWe Prefer:
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance.
Experience with requirements analysis and requirements decomposition and derivation.
Experience with UML, SysML, MBSE and CAMEO Modeling tools.
Experience with virtualization.
Knowledge of microservices, containers and orchestrators.
Knowledge in OMS.
Knowledge ofDevSecOps and CI/CD.
Experience with Jira
Experience with Version control systems (Git, GitLab)
Experience with pub/subs bus such as ActiveMQ, DDS
Experience with Agile SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
Experience with Software Development for DoD contracts.
Implemented Graphical User Interfaces with Java frameworks, such as Swing or JavaFx.
