Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Software Engineer or Senior Principal Software Engineer in Woodland Hills, CA to develop, test, and debug navigation-system software. You will contribute to model-based engineering and agile practices, collaborating across teams and maintaining strong customer relationships.

The role requires on-site work, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5 years of hands on software development experience; Masters in STEM with 3 years of hands on software development experience; PhD in STEM with 1 year of hands on software development experience
• Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Experience with programming in C, C++, or Python
• Experience using software management and workflow tools: ClearCase, Git, ClearQuest, Jira
• U.S. Citizenship is required and ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret clearance
• On-site full-time work requirement

Responsibilities

• Developing, testing, and debugging software for Navigation systems
• Collaborate with a world-class software development team in an agile environment
• Perform software and system integration on state-of-the-art hardware
• Learn and apply Model Based Engineering (MBE) techniques
• Demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving with internal and external customers
