Job summary

TCS, Inc. is seeking a Principal/Sr Principal Software Engineer to join our on-site team in Huntsville, AL, supporting the US Army IBCS program.

The role focuses on hands-on development, secure and scalable software solutions, and collaboration with systems and test engineers in an Agile setting. The ideal candidate has strong OO Java/C++ experience, Linux proficiency, and familiarity with Git/GitLab, SAFe, Jira, and Confluence.

Qualifications

Principal level: 5+ years with Bachelor's; 3+ years with Master; 1+ year with PhD.
Sr Principal level: 8+ years with Bachelor's; 6+ years with Master; 4+ years with PhD.
Strong OO development with Java and C++; Linux development experience; scripting (Bash, Python).
Experience with Git/GitLab; SAFe/Agile tools (Jira, Confluence).

Responsibilities

Design, develop, document, test, and debug software systems for the IBCS program.
Participate in SAFe Scrum teams to maintain software baselines across iterations.
Work in an Agile environment with collaboration across systems and test engineers.
Support CI/CD, documentation (Markdown), and test automation activities.
Ensure secure, scalable software addressing complex logical challenges.
